We know that choosing a boot camp is a big decision that can change the course of your life, so who better to get advice from than participants who have been right where you are? Read a few testimonials and reviews below.
The bootcamp has been a remarkable journey which has completely changed my life. Although being in the IT industry for quite a long time, I was behind on the latest technologies used in market. And this intense course helped me learn new languages, libraries, frameworks and cloud environments so short time.
Thank you for providing us with the best instructors and TA to make us understand so quickly and with examples. Apart from that, the Career Advisor services has been so supportive right from the start to every stage of job application and following up. Understanding the Canadian standards and getting me into the industry.
And lastly, It has helped me create this amazing network of industry professionals. I would like to Thank everyone personally for the time and all the useful information and tips they have given me. I shall remember the useful insights you have given me for life.
The program was extremely well designed. It started off with the basic, and quickly scaled up. I’ve been in the tech industry for a while, but still found a lot of areas where the program helped fill in gaps in my knowledge — some I didn’t even know existed!
I chose to take the coding boot camp to refresh my technical knowledge after a 10 year career break. So much had changed in 10 years and I wasn’t sure where to begin. The boot camp increased my breadth of knowledge across technical topics and I am working on my own to bring my former subjects/languages up to the current version. The boot camp was the fastest way to learn these new topics and it was great to be able to ask the instructors and TAs about the current state of the tech industry in Toronto. I also chose this boot camp over others because of the career support provided after the boot camp (e.g. reviewing my resume, LinkedIn, and portfolio).
Attending the Data Analytics bootcamp was a great experience in terms of both learning and working on various projects. The bootcamp gave me a sense of direction in the field of Data Science. It helped me get good exposure to various tools used for Data Analysis and Visualization through projects and in-class assignments.
Fast pace program as was told us before starting the program, the course empowers the student with different approaches to treat data, teaching essential concepts about web development, databases (RDBMS and NoSQL), data visualization using different programming languages, and more. That was why I choose to attend. I learned a lot and reviewed what I knew. Now I feel much more confident to face and solve IT problems I will have in my career.
It was a great chance for me to study in [the] Cybersecurity boot camp. [The] program is designed very well. Instructors were very knowledgeable, experienced and supportive. Career services were very useful. Coaching sessions with [my] career director helped me a lot step by step to improve my general skills in finding the job.
Thank you to everyone involved, Raz, Danish, Nathalie, Christina, TAs and others who helped to make this perfect program.
For me, was a good experience. I [added] Canadian experience to my resume. Also it has a good technical bases. My new role is more focus on my [previous] experience. But use the name of UofT helps me to open more doors. All the knowledge that I acquired in the bootcamp helped me some for the interview and my actual role.
I chose to attend the Cybersecurity bootcamp in order to formalize my education in the field and gain all the necessary foundational skills to pursue a career change from business to IT. Throughout the course i was consistently challenged in learning new concepts and tools, which I would go on to expand and develop. The instructors and teaching assistants were knowledgeable and very helpful, and my career adviser provided me with valuable guidance and reassurance throughout the journey.
After completing the course, I was able to pass an industry specific certification (Security+) on my first attempt, and after only a month and a half of searching I was able to secure an offer as a Junior Security Analyst. This is the first step in what I know will be a long and fruitful career in the field, and is ultimately a very positive change in my life.
Like many people, I felt stuck in my job. I was understimulated, felt underutilized, and not challenged. I knew I wanted to switch my career before I got further typecasted. And I knew that I wanted to find a career that was in-demand and challenging. I enrolled in the Data Analytics Boot Camp at UofT SCS because the curriculum was appealing and the class schedule worked with my work schedule.
I should preface by saying that I had no idea how to code prior to entering this boot camp; I had no idea what a for loop was, or how computing logic worked. I am currently one month from graduating and it is crazy how much I have learned. So much so, that I can confidently apply for data positions because of how much this boot camp has taught me and exposed me to.
It not only taught me different syntaxes and how to use various libraries, but more importantly, it taught me how to learn (i.e. look up documentation and stack overflow). Between the super helpful TAs, the amazing classrooms, great instructor (shout out to Piro!), and approachable admin, this boot camp was definitely one of the best decisions I have made in terms of my career.
As you rapidly pickup tougher and tougher skills every week, your understanding of software becomes stronger, and you can carry out larger tasks both inside and outside of school. When I write code and project plans for the employers I have met so far, they are baffled at how I’ve picked up such a clear and broad understanding of project development in only three months. In addition to the academic support, the career support is so motivating and helpful in guiding this change in lifestyle from non-developer to Full Stack developer.
I want to thank everyone at Trilogy and UofT SCS for enabling me to enter the richest and most exciting job market and granting me difficult but rewarding challenges to refine my skills.
Yes! This program is tough, if you are not willing to put the effort into studying like any other university program you will not succeed, it is not called a boot camp for no reason. But, with saying that, if you are willing to put in the effort for this course the instructional staff and everyone involved with this program is completely hands-on and willing to help you succeed! Not only are the instructors knowledgeable (about way more then just what is taught in this course), the TA’s and the tutors genuinely want you to succeed! If you are looking to transition into this field they also have a career services team that helps you get into tip-top shape for the job market! I am currently only half way through this program and I have already received multiple job offers! I would recommend this program to anyone who is serious about making a change in their life, it is truly life changing!
Basically, you get what you put into it.
There is no specific bootcamp that will make you a master of any language in 6 months. By taking this course you will develop the skills to develop web applications using today’s technology. You will learn how to teach yourself which is a required skill of any developer. You will also learn how to work with other people of varying skill levels. It gets you ready to enter the industry.
I’m taking the remote course and it is fantastic. My instructor has been coding for 20 years. The career services aspect of the course is very good. Again, you get what you put into it. If you want a computer course with little practical experience I suggest taking that course, spending way more money and seeing how it goes in four years.
I recommend this course for anyone with a passion for developing web applications. If you have taken any time learning on your own and found it a little overwhelming, I highly recommend signing up for this course as it will make everything clear and less cloudy for you and you will find your progress accelerating at a rate that will provide you much satisfaction.
